Also worth a visit are Wisbech Castle, Peckover House and the Octavia Hill Museum, the preceding home of the co-founder of the National Trust.

The guesthouse has 14 cozy, lavish and well-equipped suites, including single, double and twin apartments. There is also a family suite for young families with one double bed, one single bed & apartment for a travel cot. Every room is equipped with a TV with Freeview digital channels. The apartments are ample and radiant, with some facing the River Nene and others overlooking out onto the hotel’s flag-stoned patio.

Area information
The White Lion Hotel forms an integral part of the illustrious Wisbech Brinks. A series of Georgian buildings either side of and facing the River Nene. The nicely protected architecture of the Brinks has featured in plenty of paintings and in period films and tv programmes. The inn makes a peerless base from which to discover the sights and landmarks of the nearby area, such as the National Trust property, Peckover House and terraces, and the Thomas Clarkson memorial, erected in memory of the local man who played a main part in the abolition of slavery. Almost next door to the inn is the previous home of Octavia Hill, a founder member of the National Trust. A 2-minute stroll in the opposite direction will take you into the city centre’s market. There are markets on Thursdays and Saturdays. Wisbech’s city center also is proud of the library and Wisbech Museum. The nicely protected Georgian architecture of The Crescent is also worth a visit, as is Wisbech Castle. The palace was constructed in 1086 by William I. In later Tudor times, it became a notorious prison.

By Car: - Take the A47. - Exit onto the B198, Cromwell Road. - Before reaching the 1st set of traffic lights, turn right (one way street) and the inn car parking is on the left-hand side. By Bus: First Bus X1 Lowestoft by means of Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Kings Lynn, Wisbech, Peterborough. Other direction- First Bus X1 departs from Train and Bus Station in Peterborough. These run each thirty minutes Monday-Friday and each hour Saturday and Sunday. There are taxis obtainable from the bus station, however, the inn is within short distance (approximately 6 minutes).

Payment Information: Although American Express cards able to be used as a promise, the guesthouse does not accept them as a form of payment. Disabled Facilities: The White Lion Hotel is a historic building and there is no elevator. Unfortunately, the inn does not propose lodging on the 1st floor.
