This excellent building was built in the 1630s as a farmhouse for the surrounding Kirby Castle and its inhabitants.
It replaced another farmhouse on the same spot, which had probably dated back into the Middle Ages.
The sumptuous Kirby Castle at one time possessed a supplemental citadel which was demolished in the eighteenth century.
The surviving bricks were used in the repair of the farmhouse, thus further adding to its character and historical fascination.
A long farming custom ended when the estate was sold in 1918.
Later becoming The Castle Hotel, tales of secret metro passages from the palace to the guesthouse were confirmed when one was discovered in 1975..

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. Whether cancelled later or in case of no-show, the 1st night will be charged. Kids and Extra Bed Policy: All kids are welcome. All kids under 12 years staying free when using existing bedding. All older kids or groun-ups staying free for supplementary beds. Maximum holding capacity of supplementary beds in a suite is two. There is no holding capacity for cots in the suite. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. Vat and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Facilities charge is included. City/tourist tax is included. Internet connection: No internet connection access accessible. Meal Plan: Breakfast is not included and costs GBP 6. 95 for a person. Car parking: Free private car park is attainable on spot. Pets: Pets are not allowed.
