Liverpool is a wonderful city of Merseyside, England, which is located along the eastern side of the Mersey Estuary.
Founded as a borough in 1207 by the early 19th century, around 40% of the world's trade passed through Liverpool's docks, contributing to Liverpool's rise as a dominant city. After London Liverpool occupies the first position of having the largest number of museums and art galleries in the UK not in vain it is the European Capital of Culture 2008. One of the biggest Liverpool attractions is Albert Dock, which is home to the Merseyside Maritime Museum and of course the Beatles Story. Liverpool carefully cares about the history of the Beatles, and The Beatles Story is one of such places which has amazing exhibition describing their history from the first days till their breakup and solo careers. The whole waterfront of Albert Dock is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also in Liverpool you will find the Walker Art Gallery, Tate Liverpool, Liverpool FC Museum and Tour, Liverpool Cathedral which is the largest Anglican cathedral in the world, Knowsley Safari Park and of course Speke Hall which is one of the most famous half-timbered houses in the country, dating from 1490.
