Surtees Hotel proposes breakfast every morning between 07: 00 and 09: 30 Monday to Saturday and between 08: 00 and ten: 30 Sundays and bank vacation Mondays.
This is catered in our fine an extensive dining room 'The Gallery'.
At present Surtees Hotel does not have a restaurant serving any meals other than breakfast.

Area information

Surtees Hotel is situated only a stones throw from High Street shopping and Eldon Square, Europe's 1st ever downtown shopping area. A small walking distance from local musuems & art galleries & within a short distance of the universities. While stay with us you may wish to take a walk along the Quayside several mins stroll from the inn. The Quayside is one of Newcastle's most graphic districts, specifically at night. Home to the esteemed Tyne Bridge and the more new Millenium Eye Bridge. The Quayside is home to The Sage and The Baltic and is proud of a number off treveller sights, smart bars, restaurants and nightclubs to suit a range of tastes. Approx. a 10 minutes stroll and you are able to experience the relaxation complex 'The Gate' which provides a theatre, gambling house and more cafes and restaurants. A short bus ride across the river will take you on a shopping experience to remember at the great inner mall center 'The Metrocentre'.

Travel information

Surtees Hotel is based in the downtown and is available using most modes of transportation. It's simple to get to from the airport by auto or social conveyance, and only a short meander from the central railroad, underground and bus stations. By Car: From the North (A1): - Take the A1 and continue onto the A167 for downtown. - Exit for the downtown south (A186). - Continue via the underpass into the downtown. - Exit the roundabout for the A193 (Wallsend, South Shields). - Enter the left hand lane and take the slip highway approaching The Swan House roundabout (Bar Box/Metro Radio in middle). - Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout onto Mosley Street and turn left at the traffic lights onto Dean Street. - Continue under the arch on the left as whether entering the parking, and the guesthouse entry is on your right. From the South (A1/A19): - Follow the A1M/A19 and exit onto A167 Gateshead. - Continue through Gateshead and after approximately three miles the highway becomes a dual carriageway flyover and filters down to traffic lights. - Continue direct ahead over the Tyne Bridge and take the left slip highway up to Swan House roundabout. - Take the first exit onto Mosley Street and continue as above. From the West (A69): - Follow the A69 till the A1 is signposted at the commodious roundabout. - Exit for the A1 North and continue onto the A167. - Continue using the North directions above. By Air: Newcastle International Airport is around 8 miles away. You are able to take a cab or underground, which is approximately a 20 minute trip.

Important information

As from first July 2007, by law this is a non smoking hotel. The inn is not perfect for all disabled tourists as there are several steps leading to the entrance hall of the guesthouse. Once access is gained there is a elevator to all floors.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to two days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. Whether cancelled later or in case of no-show, the 1st night will be charged. Kids and Extra Bed Policy: All kids are welcome. All kids under 6 years staying free when using existing bedding. All kids under two years staying free for cots. There is no holding capacity for supplementary beds in the suite. Maximum holding capacity of babycots in a suite is 1. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. Vat and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Amenities charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet connection: Wireless internet connection is obtainable in public zone and is free. Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the apartment rate. Car park: No car parking accessible.
