About Sheffield, UK

Sheffield is a city of South Yorkshire, England.

Through the city runs River Sheaf which gave the name to the city, but apart from River Sheaf there are four other ones which confluent here. It is very beautiful and the most green city in the UK. During the 19th century Sheffield obtained worldwide recognition for its production of steel. Among the most popular Sheffield attractions are its theatres – the Lyceum Theatre and the Crucible Theatre, which make up the largest theatre complex outside London. Galleries are also an integral part of Sheffield; visit the Site Gallery, also modern Millennium Galleries are very interesting. Sheffield is proud of its winter gardens which recently underwent restoration. Aside from them you will find here several interesting museums such as the Weston Park Museum, the Sheffield Fire and Police Museum, the Kelham Island Museum, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet and Shepherd Wheel.
