The carte menu properties game in season from the surrounding estates, beef from our son-in-law Robert Stockdale, and lamb from the Daggett family (both of whom farm just across the river). Fresh fish is delivered daily, cheeses are local, and make is brought in from Cumbria. We are just pleased of the quality of our food. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to five days before date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 50. 00 will be charged. Whether cancelled later, the entire price of the reservation will be charged. Kids and Extra Bed Policy: All kids are welcome. All kids under two years staying free when using existing bedding. All kids under two years staying free for cots. All kids under five years are charged GBP 8. 00 per night and individual for additional beds. All kids under ten years are charged GBP 18. 00 per night and individual for supplementary beds. Quick description

Initially a 16th century Ferryman's inn, the Red Lion at Burnsall is open for lodging and meals all year round. We provide elegant food, prime wines and true beer. The major brasserie incorporates the original sixteenth-century structure of the Ferryman's Inn. The horse trough that stood outside the facade door now occupies under the stone steps that lead to the bedrooms. It was easier to build around the trough over the centuries than move it. Traditionally panelled and floored in oak by local craftsmen, the brasserie is a current meeting venue for villagers and customers alike.
