The inn is a fifteen minute stroll from the downtown, a 10 minutes amble from the station and within short distance of York Racecourse. Local buses to the downtown pass the Hotel each ten minutes. By auto: From the A59: - The A59 comes direct into York and becomes the Poppleton Road. - Travel along this highway past the absolutely new housing development on your left till you arrive to a set of traffic lights. - You will also see The Fox pub on your left. Travel direct on – the highway now becomes Holgate Road. - Bishops Hotel is 250 meters up the hill on the right hand side. From the North: - Coming through the A1, exit at combination 47 onto the A59 and follow the directions "from the A59" outlined above. From the South: - From the M1, head around Leeds and combine the A1 just south of York. - Exit the A1M at Junction 45 onto the A64. - Exit the A64 through the A1237 York bypass. - Follow this highway till you arrive to the York – Harrogate A59 roundabout. - Follow the directions "from the A59" outlined above. From the North Sea Ferries and Hull: - Take the A1079 at the wide Grimstone Bar Roundabout. - Take the A64 North which forms part of the York bypass. - Keep on the bypass till you arrive to the A59. - Follow the directions "from the A59" outlined above.

Bishops is an absolutely non smoking cottage. Bishops is a family run establishment committed to suitable and relaxing breaks for couples and families. We do not accept 'Stag' or 'Hen' parties. Please take into account that there is a 5% surcharge when paying by Credit Card. Please let us know of your estimated time of arrival and if you're arriving by auto or train.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to seven days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. Whether cancelled later or in case of no-show, 90 percent of all nights will be charged.
